Back to School

So I can't think of a better way to start middle school than with a pink cast. I know Kat is going to do great. Kat is a great example to everyone around her. She always works hard and strives to CTR. I hope we will get used to this getting up early.
We are so happy to have Abby's best friend Laura in her class. Abby is always kind and thinking of others. Abby is always on her best behavior, Mrs. Holland is going to love her.

We had to fill out a paper about Liam and on his weakness the only thing Zac could think of was Kryptonite! He is a hero to us, keep up the good work!

I don't know what Zander is going to do without Liam.....he is already missing him.

Kat's Surgery

Kat had a extra bone that was causing her pain so we decided to take it out.
This is her just after the surgery, she did really well. Kat was very concerned about the IV . Dr. Logel said she was all giggles and didn't feel a thing after a little gas. Hopefully she will be back on the soccer field soon.

Half Marathon

So way back in Jan. I had been thinking I really needed to get myself together. I really wanted to start running but I couldn't get off the couch. I had prayed for help and I have to say Heavenly Father really answers our prayers. Lindsay called me one day inviting us to FHE and she then mentioned something about running. We started running to get in shape, then for a 5k next thing I knew we are training for a HM. Running has made a huge difference in my life. I owe Lindsay so much because I know I wouldn't have done it without her. Thanks for putting up with me 4 mornings out of the week!

Zac couldn't be there because my kids had a dance receital the same day but my Mom was there to cheer me on.

Yes, I know Lindsay and I look just as good at the end as we did the begining. We can't help it.

Oh did I mention that Lindsay was pregnant and I had strep?

My baby is not a baby anymore! Zander is 2. He blew out the candles all by himself.
We got him this racetrack. Once we opened it he had a one track mind. It didn't matter what we said he just ignored us and played with his cars. He didn't even care about the scooter that he had not even opened yet.

Washington D.C.

In 5th grade our school takes a field trip to Washington D.C.
I can't believe how much we saw in 2 days. This is Kat and I at the WW2 memorial.

We got lucky enough to hang out with the Smith group. We ran them like crazy from 5:30 in the morning until 10:00 at night. The Air and Space was one of our last stops and this was what they looked like.

Ice Skating

So my sister decided to come and spend a couple of days with us. After taking a vote on what to do iceskating was the winner.

I think this was the moment Luke told me I was a better skating partner than his dad.

Even Zander got in skates. He spent most of the time on the side but I think he still had fun.

Fear Factor

So this New Years Eve I decided to have a party. Our theme was FEAR FACTOR. Even though we didn't get to spend it with family (that we miss like crazy) we had great friends to be with! I know that our family had fun and we can hardly wait to do it again.Zac scored us a 2nd place in the sardine, fish cakes, pigsfeet, jalapeno eating. Seriously is that all you got!!!!

Kat had the hardest time getting her booggars down. We kept yelling for her to just swallow them.

It wasn't easy to get the worms out of all that blood without using your hands but Abby got us 1st place that round.

Liam said that he wanted to drink the clam juice and he did. That just sounds nasty.


Our friends daughter Audrey hung in there with the men eating her sardines. Way to go Audrey.

I don't think Fear Factor would be complete unless someone threw up. Yes Abby threw up after eating oysters. It was awesome!!!

So after it was all over and points were added up I have to say

FEAR is not a FACTOR for the MEASOM FAMILY!

Also...Kurt my dad can beat up your dad!!!

Christmas

It is always fun to take the kids pick out a tree and Decorate it.

Christmas eve is not complete wothout P.J.'s made by Grandma Rae.

(this year we did open them a little early because our tree tipped over and the wrapping got wet but we still had to wait to wear them)

We didn't forget to make reindeer food and throw it in our yard.
Abby is going to be making us a lot of treats in her Easy Bake oven.

I can already hear the fighting over who goes frist on the WII.

Zander was excited to have all the new toys.

Liam helped Zac put together his Green Machine and took Zander for a ride.
